This seminar is an already funded part of our Erasmus+ accreditation which is dedicated to rising environmental and climate awareness and action in the field of work through re-creating the connection with nature (also in urban settings) and through active participation.

OBJECTIVE
The main objectives of this seminar is to equip youth workers with competencies to encourage youngsters become changemakers and climate activists.

During the seminar we will explore 1) current environmental and climate crisis effect on youth; 2) various methods of rising environmental awareness among youth; 3) what are various types of youth participation, such as inclusive decision making and more. The seminar is also happening bearing in the mind the upcoming Europarlament elections.

We will also dedicate some small part of the programme to talk about well-being in order to lessen the risks of burn-out. And as always we dedicate our energy to leave the highest impact on people/organizations and the smallest impact on environment.
Besides that, some of the partners have expressed interest in general information about Erasmus+ projects, so we will dedicate a session to this topic, with focus on what type of activities could help us to reach our aims.

DATES
The planned days are 21.02.-27.02.2024. (for green travel more days are allowed). If you are interested, you can arrive a few days earlier/leave a few days later. We will still reimburse the travel costs, but not the food/stay.
DON'T BOOK ANY TICKETS YET!

PLACE
To be announced, but is already known that it will be in west part of Latvia.
Also, you have to be ready to share rooms with more people.

PARTICIPANTS' PROFILE
We are looking for people who already work with youth on any level (youth workers, teachers, social workers, mentors and other support persons, municipality workers of youth departments; youth leaders that work with groups of youngsters etc.) and who want to include more re-connection with nature, climate issues, environmental awareness in their work with young people.

IMPORTANT
For those who are not aware of this yet, I want to remind that "Radi Vidi Pats" stands for projects that are making future into more beautiful place then it is now. Therefore we realize the project as environment-responsible as possible. We encourage the participants to use land transportation (cars, trains, buses) especially if the distance is les than 1500km. And people choosing flights have to be ready to pay CO2 emission costs (example: Berlin-Riga-Berlin is aorund EUR 20).

Also the meals are vegetarian by default as meat industry is one of the main causes for climate changes. Participants have to be ready for a seminar that aims for a greener future.

We will contact the selected participants until 26th of December. Therefore please fill this in until 23rd of December (including).

Please describe your relation to youth work (read again the description of the participants' profile we are looking for, if needed)
*
Why do you want to be a part of this seminar? What would you like to learn? *
What could be your contribution to the project? We ask this to see if we should create and open space in the programme for participants to share their competences, lobby some ideas, invite others to take part in simply cool activities etc. (it can be related to the objectives of the seminar or something else, so please don't be shy - we are eager to learn) *
A bit of prediction the future. How are you going to use the competences/skills/ideas gained during this seminar in your personal and professional life? *
What is your favorite song that recharges you, energizes you or just makes you feel good? Please write the artist and the title of the song! *
Are you ready for self-directed learning? How? *
Do you have any special needs? (Medical issues, mental health issues, impaired mobility, must have meat (medical reasons), allergies etc.?) How can we support you during the seminar?
*
Take a quick look to the travel opportunities! Is there any chance that you might choose greener transportation? If you come from West/South, check if you can get to Warsaw by trains, because from there are daily buses to Riga. Or if you come from West, there is a ship from Travemunde, Germany to Liepaja, Latvia, which is also worth checking. We have a few faraway partners, so it's pretty understandable that you might choose flying. Nevertheless, we would like to calculate the budget, so that's why we put this question now. *
If you fly, what would be your estimated CO2 amount and can you/your organization offset those emissions? You can check https://co2.myclimate.org/en/flight_calculators/new  (or similar platforms) for additional info. *
For the purpose of more interactive communication outside e-mails when it comes closer to the training. Which of following are you using/are willing to use (if more than one, mark all)? *
Required
We will do our best to organize a great food. There will be some out-door work. The program will be enriching but not too exhausting. The vibe is also up to you but the trainers will  take care that it is fun and productive. How else we could take care of you during this seminar/before/after? *
Are you ready to participate actively actively for the entire project? (Including follow up activities that you have to do with the help of your organization  in order to receive the travel reimbursement) *
Any ideas how you can share the results (your learning) from this seminar with other PEOPLE WHO WORK WITH YOUTH back in your country?
*
Anything else you would like to add to the answers you gave or to tell  or ask us?
