The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays (Center) and Maryland Coastal Bays Program (MCBP) are excited to offer the third annual “Journey Up the Coast: An In-Person Exploration of the Inland and Coastal Bays” for children ages 6-12! This unique education program will include a series of fun, interactive activities focused on topics such as watersheds, estuaries, and wildlife guided by the Center and MCBP environmental educators.

There are two date options for the program. When registering, please select one or both options. Please note that each day takes place at a DIFFERENT location and will offer different activities.

Day 1: Thursday, July 6 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Assateague State Park Living Shoreline in Berlin, MD (rain date: Friday, July 7)

Day 2: Thursday, July 13 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at the James Farm Ecological Preserve in Ocean View, DE (rain date: Friday, July 14)

Sign in begins each day at 9:00am and the program will start promptly at 9:30am. To reserve your young learners spot, please complete the registration information below. If there are multiple participants in a group (e.g. family, club, etc.), a separate form will need to be submitted for each individual. An email containing additional information and participation waivers will be distributed closer to the program date. In the event of poor weather conditions, you will be emailed 24 hours in advance about switching to the rain date.

This program is completely FREE.

As “Journey Up Coast” is a program and not a camp, a parent or guardian will be required to remain on-site for the duration of the program. Parents may have a guardian present in their place, but will be required to indicate such information prior to the program. Further details about this will be shared closer to the program date.

Safety is always a priority throughout the duration of our educational programs. The Center and MCBP are following all federal and local guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 and its impacts on youth programs. During JUTC programs, participants are not required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. The entirety of our programs take place outside, but it is not always possible to maintain a six foot distance from one another during program activities.

Please send any additional questions to MCBP's Education Program Manager, Chandler Joiner at cjoiner@mdcoastalbays.org.
