EMED 111B/C Student Application 2020-2021
The Stanford Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program (EMED 111B/C), is a two-course sequence designed to give students the theoretical and practical training they need to take the National Registry of EMTs certification exam and work as an EMT. Prerequisite: EMED 111A or consent of instructor.

To ensure an optimal training environment, our course requires that the class size remain within a range that allows each student to receive adequate practice and instruction. Course enrollment is therefore determined by application. Please respond to each question thoughtfully and genuinely - our goal is to find out who you are and why you want to take this course.

Enrollment is only available to Stanford University students (undergraduate, graduate). Staff and faculty of Stanford University can be accepted on a space available basis. If you are a staff or faculty member, please apply and email us.

There is a $100 course fee that covers the cost of a stethoscope, BP cuff, penlight, class polo shirt and uniform pants (you must provide proper footwear) that will be provided to you.

***Please note***: BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR Certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross is a requirement for this course.  If you do not have this certification, we will provide you opportunities to obtain this certification during Fall quarter.
