WORKERS’ RIGHTS BOARD HEARING: The Future of Jobs at Best Market/Lidl
A hearing and investigation into the current and future working conditions at Best Market/Lidl supermarkets
TUESDAY, September 24th 2019, 6-8pm
OUR LADY OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL CHURCH
(1434 Straight Path, Wyandanch)

Workers’ livelihoods are in jeopardy at Best Market/Lidl stores across Long Island. In November of 2018, Lidl, a multinational supermarket chain, acquired all Best Markets and promised over 2,500 workers they would all keep their jobs despite plans to eliminate the deli, seafood and meat departments.

At the hearing, workers and community advocates will provide testimony on the following:

- Unstable hours and scheduling
- Health and safety on the job
- Low-wages and unaffordable medical benefits
- Gender inequities
- Impacts of low-wage jobs on workers
- Questions concerning the future of jobs at Best Market/Lidl
