Spring Semester Committee Interest Form
Please fill out this form and list your preferences for what committee you would like to be placed in for the semester.

The committees are as follows:

ETAF/COVID Committee: This committee will be focused on university advocacy and changing university licensing policy to be more socially equitable. This will be one of our bigger campaigns as it is a core mission of UAEM. This will include research on the biomedical R&D system for the University System of Maryland, learning about key innovations, and following this research down the manufacturing pipeline. Those that are participating in the Free the Vaccine campaign should list this as their first preference as the work heavily overlaps with this committee. This committee will also require the greatest commitment.

Insulin and HIV Advocacy Committee: This committee will focus on national and state advocacy fighting for insulin affordability and HIV awareness. This committee will research the insulin crisis in the United States and create a pitch to give to local and national representatives. This will be a great opportunity to gain lobbying experience.

Global Public Health and Neglected Diseases Committee: This committee will focus on bringing awareness to tropical diseases that do not receive enough research attention at US institutions. These diseases primarily burden the global south but do not receive enough attention as there are no monetary incentives to find these treatments and diagnostics. This committee will research different neglected diseases and come up with solutions to help university labs prioritize such research. This would a great opportunity for those interested in global public health and health awareness.
