CTF Course Descriptions:

Ancient Cultures: This course will have students choose by majority what two cultures will be studied. The cultures that students will choose from include Vikings, Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, Roman Empire and Medieval Europe. Topics will focus on daily life, religion, food, sport, language, art, social hierarchy and major events. This course will have a lot of hands-on activities as well as some self-directed studies. Supplies will be asked to be brought in depending on the activity.

Art: What would I do if I were an artist? You will use a range of tools, materials and media to communicate thoughts and feelings, to think artistically and to value art. You will both draw and create art, as well as be inspired by art that others have made. This course has a $25 fee per student.

Foods: This course is designed to teach you the fundamental skills necessary to operate in the kitchen safely, read a recipe and measure accurately and work with basic kitchen equipment. It is designed for students who have only had a limited amount of experience in the kitchen. This course has a $30 Fee.

HIIT: Looking for a physical challenge? Come to this session to get a sweat on with a "High-Intensity Interval Training " video-led workout for all levels. The workouts will be followed by a cool-down period (stretching & core). No experience necessary is needed, just a good mindset and willingness to participate.

Woods: Students will learn the tools and techniques of the wood shop, with an emphasis on safety, through hands-on learning. Students will use their woodworking skills through the design and construction of a wooden toy. This course will have a $40 fee per student.

Yoga: Do you need to de-stress and relax in a quiet space? This course is designed to introduce students to the basic poses (asanas) of yoga. It is intended to help students gain appropriate knowledge and body awareness through movement, breathing techniques and relaxation methods. It is important for teens to be aware of their bodies and minds, as well as lead an active lifestyle. The intent is to expose students to the basics of yoga and create a positive environment for them to learn how to calm their minds and be active. Yoga mat recommended.
