Please join us for the second in a series of 3 workshops on the Universal Design of Learning (UDL). This workshop will focus on building inclusive communication.
Effective communication of course goals and content is integral to student success. Transparent communication practices assist students from diverse backgrounds and with different learning abilities. This workshop is intended for instructors who are interested in developing skills to increase clarity of course goals and content, while also providing options for students to communicate back their knowledge through activities and assignments.
The learning outcomes for this workshop: You will be able to --
1. Identify strategies, based on the Universal Design for Learning framework for instruction, to provide to support students in sustaining effort, understanding course specific language, and expressing knowledge
2. Locate strategies for building inclusive communication in a class scenario
3. Determine at least one technique to implement in a current course to increase inclusive communication
