On a sheet of paper, complete the following for each situation below:
a. Sketch
b. Motion Diagram
1. A cubic cat is moving away from the origin, in the positive direction. A short time later the cat is moving away from the origin, in the positive direction, faster than before.
2. Travelling in the positive direction closer to the origin is a cubic squirrel. Moments later the squirrel is travelling in the positive direction, closer to the origin, slower than before.
3. Moving towards the origin backwards is a cubic raccoon. A little while later the raccoon is moving towards the origin, backwards, at the same speed as before.
4. Moving in the positive direction closer to the origin is a cubic mouse. A little while later the mouse is moving in the positive direction, farther from the origin, less quickly than before.
5. Going away from the origin in the negative direction is a cubic rat. A short time later the rat is going away from the origin, in the negative direction, at an equal speed as before.
6. A cubic skunk is going closer to the origin, backwards. Moments later the skunk is going farther from the origin, backwards, quicker than before.
