Due West COVID-19 Policy and WAIVER
During these unprecedented times, it is essential for us all to remember that we are still in a pandemic with no vaccine or cure. The following policy and waiver is based on the Georgia COVID-19 Pandemic Business Safety Act approved by the 2020 Legislative Session on June 20, 2020. As we have seen with this virus, things change daily. Please use this policy in conjunction with any addendums that may be added until such a time that a revision of this letter/waiver is deemed necessary. *
For ALL activities, including but not limited to entrance to buildings for classes, appointments, Preschool, and/or other office related errands, a temperature check will be required either by a staff member or using a self-check scanner. Thermometers will be kept at reception areas closest to the entrance doors. Sanitizing stations (a liquid, gel or foam used to decrease infections agents) will be available and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks are required*.
Maintain six feet of social distance at all times.
IF YOU FEEL SICK (fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell or a general feeling of illness), DO NOT ENTER the building. Consider these important questions.
Have you taken any fever-reducing medicine such as Tylenol or Advil for fever in the last 12 hours?
Have you tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) within the last 14 days?
Have you experienced a loss of taste or smell sensation within the last 14 days?
Have you experienced persistent pain or pressure in your chest over the last 14 days?
Have you been sick with a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or respiratory infection in the past 14 days?
Have you had close contact with someone who has - OR - is under investigation for COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, return to your home and call your physician. If the answer is yes to any of the above questions AND you have been in direct contact with someone else on the Due West campus, please return to your home, call your physician AND call the church at 770-427-3835 to notify.
If you later learn you have been exposed and have been in direct contact with someone on the Due West UMC campus, please notify the church immediately. Currently, the  quarantine time is 14 days from the date of exposure or until you receive a negative test result whichever comes first. Doctors recommend not being tested for 5 days after an exposure to get an accurate result.
For your safety and ours, our Facilities team has been asked to spray and wipe down main door handles each morning as they open up.
Please wipe down common surfaces you use as well. Sanitizing sprays are available in each building. Of course, wash your hands frequently.
This waiver will be saved in our records until it is deemed no longer necessary.
