This Poetry or spoken word competition gives participants three minutes with a 20-second grace period to recite or read one original, powerful poem or spoken word piece. The judges will score the participants on a scale of 0.1 to 10 based upon originality, content, and performance of your poem. The person with the highest score is the Tejas Poetry Slam Champion and will receive a cash prize and trophy.
Sign up by January 15 if you are interested in participating. We will contact you and let you know if there is space for you in the slam.
