The use of therapeutic anticoagulation to treat Splanchnic Venous Thrombosis (SpVT) associated with acute pancreatitis
This survey is to understand the current approaches to the diagnosis, management and follow up of patients suffering from a new onset Splanchnic Venous Thrombosis (SpVT) in association with ACUTE pancreatitis in your practice. Your contribution will enrich this understanding. This is a surgery before designing a Clinical Trial and you will be invited to take part in that when centre recruitment starts.
Glossary:
- SpVT: Splanchnic Venous Thrombosis
- Acute pancreatitis: Not Chronic pancreatitis
- Prophylactic Anticoagulation: Can be mechanical or chemical. The question will specify
- Therapeutic Anticoagulation: therapeutic dose of chemical anticoagulation as recommended by manufacturer
