Metamorphosis: A Night of Queer Celebration

On Saturday, June 1st 2024 from 5-9pm, step into a world of transformation at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery! Metamorphosis is a night for LGBTQIA+ youth to embrace themselves and community through celebration. We’ll have music, dancing, karaoke, activities, a drag & fashion catwalk, and so much more! Food and drinks will be provided. Get decked out in gems or shed your chrysalis, but come just as you are. Join us as we kick off summer and Pride month by uplifting LGBTQIA+ youth.  

  • This is a free event for ages 14-19 or grades 8th-12th. It is on Saturday, June 1st from 5-9pm at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. Allies are also welcome. 
  • If you would like to participate in the Drag & Fashion Catwalk, please register below. Local drag performer Krisa Gonna will be hosting! 
  • This is an inclusive space for all youth. You are welcomed and invited to be your authentic self. If you have any questions, please see contact information below. 
  • Earplugs and pronouns indicators will be available. 
  • This is a sober event.   
  • This event is a partnership by the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, Poudre Libraries, SummitStone Health Partners, CSU Pride Resource Center, Fort Collins City Cultural Community Programs, and Out Boulder County.

If you are registering for the Drag Parade, please let us know your name and your stage name. On the day of this event, please check in with staff at the front table. This activity will be held during Metamorphosis. Youth will have their performance name called by our MC and walk across stage to show off their makeup, drag persona, or general fashion.

As we are using the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery's building, we will be following their facility rules. This includes but is not limited to: 

No alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, vapes, or substances of any kind are allowed. This is a sober event. 

Please respect people's space and boundaries; no taking pictures of others without asking first, no inappropriate touching, and no derogatory speech. 

Please respect the space you are in and cause no harm. Please respect any posted signs. 

Failure to comply with anything listed here or request from designated staff may result in being asked to leave the event.
