Reel Short Teen Film Festival Submission Rules & Guidelines
Films must be produced by teens, grades 8-12, who reside in the state of Florida.
Films must be no longer than five minutes in entirety.
More than one teen may work on a film, but the final version of that film may only be submitted by one teen.
Adults may be serve as actors in a film, but they cannot perform any other duty in the writing, filming, editing, directing or producing of the film.
Entrants may submit up to three films for consideration.

Format Requirements:
Initial submissions must be via online screener. Please upload your film to YouTube or Vimeo and provide the link on the submission form. If video is password protected, please provide that information as well. Teens whose films are selected for exhibition will be asked to provide high quality .MOV files to be delivered to Enzian on a USB flash drive or sent via a cloud storage service (i.e. Google Drive, Dropbox). Film file must be named with the film title and director’s name (ex: “Citizen-Kane-Orson Welles”).
 
Legal Disclaimers:
When you enter a film in the Reel Short Teen Film Festival, you:
•give all sponsoring parties permission to use film title, images, names and other film info to promote future Film Festivals;
•understand that a jury will review all submissions and select those to be screened at the Film Festival
•accept that the jury may not select films for the festival that contain excessive violent or obscene content.

Copyright Notification:

Photos and other such visuals plus various forms of music—on the Internet and elsewhere—are copyrighted, even if they don’t include the copyright character, “©” and the owner’s name.

Your film should not contain copyrighted material (songs, video, photography, etc.) unless you ensure that you have obtained permission for that material to be used. If your film includes copyrighted audio or visuals you must include a statement in the credits certifying it is used with written permission from the copyright holder.  

Timeline:
ALL SUBMISSIONS DUE BY FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2020.
A jury will review every film entered for Showcase selections and award winners. Not every film submitted will necessarily be selected for the Showcase.

Filmmakers will be notified by email by Wednesday, February 12, 2020 as to whether their film has been selected for the Showcase.

Selected entries will be screened at Enzian where the Jury awards will be announced and Audience Choice Award will be determined.
 
Award Categories:
A jury panel will select awards in various categories except the Audience Choice Award, which will be ballot chosen by the Showcase audience. Jury awards may include the following:
•Best of Show
•Screenwriting Award
•Best Animation
•Most Inspiring
•Honorable Merits
 
Reel Short Teen Film Festival 2020 Release Form:

By entering the Reel Short Teen Film Festival, the applicant agrees to all rules and
regulations as defined in the Submission Guidelines and agrees to release and hold harmless the Enzian and Winter Park Public Library, including their Trustees, staff, and other representatives and other festival sponsors from any and all claims arising in any way from the submission or use of materials (from here on referred to as “the Work”) by or on behalf of the applicant. Further, the person signing this form agrees to pay any attorney's fees and/or court costs that should arise from the performance of this agreement.
The Enzian and Winter Park Public Library will not mass duplicate your film for the purposes of profiting from the sale of it. It may use your film in various promotional efforts to publicize teen achievements in filmmaking or to document the art of teen filmmaking. To this end, the applicant also grants a non-exclusive license, throughout the world and in perpetuity, to the Enzian and Winter Park Public Library to:
•show the Work to the public at a future Reel Short Teen Film Festival.
•use the Work for Reel Short Teen Film Festival promotions and fundraising.
•include or embody the Work in another film produced by the Reel Short Teen Film Festival, such as a collection of films, to be used for promotion of the Reel Short Teen Film Festival.
•display the Work, in part or in its entirety, on enzian.org and wppl.org and their respective social media platforms.
•Present the Work, including sounds and images of the Work, to the public by any means including, but not limited to, the Internet, cable, satellite, radio, television, newspapers, CD, DVD, and Blu-ray.
•Have the Work listed in the festival’s printed and promotional materials including the catalog of entries.
 
By writing the names of the applicant and/or guardian indicates that he/she holds all necessary rights for the submission and display of the Work and grants to Enzian and the Library a share in those rights for the purposes outlined in this entry form.
