Performance Sign-Up: Performing Arts at the Castle
Use this form to sign up for performances at the Performing Arts at the Castle event, Saturday, March 7, AS 54, in the Barony of the Debatable Lands (Pittsburgh, PA). For further information, please visit the Facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/463260281259880/?notif_t=plan_user_invited&notif_id=1578016523720601

Please note: Due to time constraints, it is VERY LIKELY that each individual or act will only get to perform once during the day (not counting classes, pop-up bardic circles, and the official circle at the end of the day). Please answer the following questions with that understanding. We will make every effort to place as many performers on the schedule as possible; I will let each performer know what was selected and publish the anticipated schedule prior to the event. All schedules are subject to change.

ALL the performance opportunities at the event are intended to create a safe, receptive place for you to practice your craft. As audience, we strive to treat all performers with the courtesy and encouragement we ourselves would wish. This is also an opportunity for improvement, so each attendee will be offered a chance to take a ribbon with a color to designate the kind of feedback desired, from "only positive feedback" to "no nit too small to pick."

ONE of the performance blocks will be designated "Enchanted Ground Rules"--meaning only period pieces or pieces that are carefully camouflaged to seem like they could have been done in period. The final performing slot, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, will be designated as an "open mic" -- other activities will be happening, such as feast setup, but performers are welcome to sign up in that slot for a less formal setting. After the feast, there will be an open bardic circle using pick/pass/play protocol, until the site closes or the autocrats make us leave.

We are also looking for performances during feast - specifically, period pieces that correspond to the country from which each course will be drawn. There are four cuisines that the head cook is highlighting: English, French, Dutch, and Scottish, all from the 15th or 16th centuries. If you have a piece that is appropriate for one of these slots, we ask you to consider submitting it for feast instead of during the day.

Please fill out ONE response per person or group hoping to be scheduled. If you are performing solo, that's one form; if you are also part of a group performance, one representative of your group (such as your director) should fill out a form for the group.

Performances should be LIMITED to 10 minutes for a solo performer; 15 minutes for an ensemble performance (choir or consort) and 20 minutes for a theatrical or other staged performance. This will help ensure we can exhibit as many of you as possible.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email the performance coordinator, Gwendolyn the Graceful, Brehyres (OL) at gwenlygrace@gmail.com.
