Five groups of young people led by facilitators, artists and experts will reflect on how urban digital arts can contribute to climate engagement. You will spend a multicultural day with face-to-face groups and connected people from Milan, Barcelona, Riga, Gdansk and Weimar, designing together solutions for a more just and sustainable future.
The one-hour Symposium ‘Nature Data Narratives’ will explore the potential of climate engagement through urban digital arts. It will take place online during the Media Architecture Biennale 2023 in Torronto and onsite at the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar connected with 5 European cities (Riga, Milano, Gdansk, Barcelona and Weimar). The speakers will open different perspectives how we can collect and visualise data in meaningful creative scenarios, how the engagement can be brought to a closer public sphere and which impact eco-art can have in a global context.
The Symposium is also part of the Artathon of the project ‘Augmented Europe (Auge)’ which is an EU co-funded initiative since 2020 with the mission to invite young activists and artivists, scholars, designers, IT experts, citymakers, scientists and climate fiction storytellers to discuss urgent topics about climate change online in the workshops of the Artathon.
