Welcome! This is Meddling Kids Movement's biggest undertaking since our founding and we are so excited you are interested. #Suffrage16 is our campaign to lower the federal voting age from 18 to 16 and build a grassroots coalition of young people to support this. We are culminating this movement into a petition and we need talented student leaders to help build support.

CRITERIA:
Must be 19 years of age or younger.
Must be connected to activism in your area.
Must be willing to commit time.
Must be responsible, organized, and passionate about youth activism.

What is a Suffrage State Lead?
A Suffrage State Lead is a young person leading their community toward the fight to lower the vote.

What does a Suffrage State Lead do?
A Suffrage State Lead will galvanize their communities to support our petition/campaign to lower the federal voting age. They will also represent us at community events, promote to local schools, possibly speak to press in your area, and most importantly, keep up with local legislation affecting youth voting rights. A full job description will be available upon hiring.

Who does a State Director respond to?
The Suffrage State Leads will be coordinated by Isabel Hope, Executive Director of Meddling Kids Movement. They will communicate through Slack and potential WhatsApp groups.

If you do not see your state on here it is because we already have it covered. We are currently only accepting 1-2 State Leads per state, but feel free to check our main "Submit for Team Position" form for other possibilities.
