The FSYSO will have two distinct age group categories:
The Emerging Young Artist (EYA) category will include young musicians, ages 14-17, who are enrolled in private lessons, either through independent teachers or through their respective school system. The tuition for EYA participants is $350 per season. Scholarships are available, and audition requirements will change depending on the amount of scholarship sought (see below).
The Pre-Professional Artist (PPF) category will include musicians ages 18-25 who are seeking high-level preparation for a future career as a professional musician. Auditions will be held at the highest standards. PPF participants will have access to masterclasses, mock auditions, and chamber music programs. Each PPF participant will receive an annual stipend with amounts that will vary based on the number of concerts, rehearsals, and extra coaching or administrative duties they might perform throughout the year.
