Invitation to provide input to the second periodic report of Maldives due under the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment

The Government of Maldives is currently preparing its Second Periodic Report under the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, based on the List of Issues Prior to Reporting issued by the UN Committee against Torture on 12th December 2022.

As part of this process, we would like to invite all civil society organizations / non-governmental organizations working in this area, to a meeting on the 8th of November 2023 at 11:00 hours, to share any information, challenges or work done in the area especially in relation to the issues highlighted in the List of Issues Prior to Reporting issued by the UN Committee against Torture.

Interested CSOs/NGOs may nominate one representative via this form to share the organization’s input at the civil society consultations to be held on the 8th of November 2023 and any other consultations to be held during the reporting process.

Registrations to participate in this process will close at 17:00 hrs on 6th of November 2023. All enquiries regarding this process may be directed to the Human Rights and International Affairs Division of the Attorney General’s Office. Kindy note that we will share additional information with the participants once they register.
