Urban Sustainability Solutions' mission is to provide environmental education and workforce development training opportunities for youth. This program is designed to engage youth in community service and to introduce them to post-secondary educational and career opportunities related to water quality to meet the demand in this field in the coming decades.
Our goal is to train a team of up to 6 EC, OCS, and Agriculture teachers from your school. We will host a 2-day workshop at your school where teachers will:
- Receive their NC CES Rain Garden Design Certification
- Review NC stormwater curriculum on Canvas
- Gain OCS and EC curriculum support
- Receive GIS technology training
- Receive a stipend of $500 for their time and participation
- Plan future paid afterschool internship opportunities.
