Understanding How Students Learn
Hi everyone! We're currently University students in the U.S. studying computer science and education. I'm really passionate about teaching and want to really understand what can help students in K-12 grades. If you could fill any/all of this form out, we would really appreciate it!

Can you give us some background on your teaching? What ages did you/do you teach and what subjects?

How does prep for classes look? Can you run us through your daily schedule (inside and outside the classroom)?

How long do you spend creating homework assignments and review materials? What are your most time intensive tasks?
How do you design your curriculum? How much flexibility do you have?
What study materials do you usually prepare for your students? What study and skill practicing tools does your classroom currently use?
Do you incorporate active learning in your class? Either in activities or through the study tools that are being used?
What learning techniques have you found your kids most responsive to?
Is focus/engagement something you have to re-center often? If so, what helps with that?
How is technology currently used? How do you, as an educator, feel about AI being used to help learning in the classroom?
How do you measure how students are doing? How do your students review and learn concepts they have missed on assignments and quizzes?
How is student engagement? Do students ask for help? Do students feel motivated in general?
How often do you or your students create flashcard decks?
Does your class use pop culture and movie / TV show references in learning?
Any advice/things to keep in mind for us developing a learning technology for K-12 students?
