Advanced First Aid and Stop the Bleed class, March 22, 2022
This class is open to everyone in the community and does not require any prerequisites. This class is free to all who register.
The class is offered on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 8:30 am till 3:30 pm. The class will be offered at the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management located at 1353 FM646, Dickinson, TX 77539.
The topics to be covered will be medical emergencies such as heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and seizures, as well as trauma injuries such as bleeding, bandaging, and splinting. You will also receive the course material in Stop the Bleed techniques including tourniquets and packing wounds in torso-junctional areas of the body.
You are welcome to bring snacks with you to class, but please bring them in a container and keep it at the seat with you.
All participants will receive a participation card issued by Greater Metropolitan Safety Council, as well as a large certificate for both First Aid and Stop the Bleed. Certificates will be electronic .pdf file that will be sent to your email.
This course is offered to anyone 13 years old and older. If you are not a licensed driver of 16 years of age or older, then an adult must participate with you during all hours of this class. You must register here online.
