The following programs are actively seeking volunteers. Please check any that you are interested in learning more about!
IBIO SUMMER STUDENT PROGRAMMING- teaching an introductory immunology lecture or sharing about your pathway to science (June-August 2024)
YALE PRISON EDUCATION INITIATIVE- teach and aid students in the degree-granting program
Joining the IWGDI Outreach Subcommittee- involves helping plan/organize all of these initiatives and contributing to the department's efforts for diversity & inclusion
The following programs will be looking for volunteers in the future. Please check any that you'd like to learn more about, and you'll be contacted when they become available.
SUMMER RESEARCH MENTORING- mentoring a community college, high school, or undergraduate student for a summer research project through partner programs (sign-ups open winter 2024)
COMMUNITY BREAKFAST 2024- work in a team to put together a public lecture for adults in the New Haven area (next will be held Fall 2024; topic TBD)
DAY OF IMMUNOLOGY 2025- volunteer to be a primary instructor or part of the planning committee (team will start planning in Fall 2024)
VACCINES LECTURE- teaching a short class on basic concepts of immunological memory & herd immunity (materials already developed). Utilizes a 3D-printed kit to teach about antibody-antigen interactions.
