VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Please indicate below how you would prefer to volunteer with CWRU's Summer on the Cuyahoga internship program. You may check more than one or all of the options below. In addition, there are several SOTC events open to CWRU alumni throughout the summer - we hope to see you there!
Short-term Housing for Interns (Homestay)
Offer brief temporary housing for CWRU interns at the beginning (May) and end (August) of the program.
Be Matched with an Intern (Alumni Ambassador)
Share your knowledge about the professional world and Cleveland. Commit to meeting with the student at least twice over the course of the summer outside CWRU and SOTC events, and attend 2-3 CWRU and SOTC program events. Time commitment of about an hour a week for about half the weeks of the summer.
We host CWRU-exclusive events for interns throughout the summer. These are typically casual get-togethers, like picnics or BBQs. Help plan an event for CWRU interns.
JOIN AN SOTC BOARD COMMITTEE
The SOTC board of directors is composed of 2 alumni from each participating school. In addition, committees comprised of both board and non-board members assist with specific assignments. Please indicate below if you are interested in learning more about a certain committee.
Employer Outreach
Responsible for overseeing and managing the employer outreach process to secure internships for 60+ interns each summer by following an in-depth strategy, which includes contacting new and existing employers and updating tracking documents.
Development and Fundraising
Responsible for grant writing and individual fundraising campaigns geared towards individuals, corporations, foundations, board giving, and alumni clubs.
Corporate Sponsors
Responsible for soliciting donations and program support through corporate sponsorships, specifically reaching out to companies to solicit financial gifts and in-kind support (i.e. swag for SOTC interns).
Marketing
Responsible for communicating regularly (or overseeing communications by applicable subcommittees) with all stakeholders through a combination of various projects that can include social media, website content, etc. depending on the current needs of SOTC.
