We're truly sorry that your experience with Buy Nothing has brought you to this form. We acknowledge that there various problems and issues that have arisen when our foundational Buy Nothing values and resources meet up with things such as the private group structure on Facebook and its inherently unequal power distribution. We've seen that even the best people with the kindest and most constructive intentions struggle with digital architecture that requires an individual to hold power over their neighbors.
For this reason and many others, we've invested the past few years of our lives and funds from our own pockets, along with financial support from friends, family, and Buy Nothing supporters, to create an independent BN platform. We hope you'll consider giving it a try - We've built an equal power structure, so that each person curates their own connections and makes their own choices about their community location and sharing radius, and we've built features just for BN that aren't available anywhere else.
