Kindergarten Center Future Poll
The vacant Phoenixville Area School District (School District) Kindergarten Center is a 7.4 acre site, with 2+ acres of woods and an 18000 SF building. The Phoenixville Green Team and Phoenixville Area Transition have created this poll to explore the public's input into the future of the  Kindergarten Center.

The District plans to sell the property and bids have been offered by developers and the Boro of Phoenixville (Boro).  The Boro's offer is $1.8M contingent on receiving grant funding. The Boro proposes to keep the open space and convert the Building into a Learning Center. Toll Brothers’ offer is $3.9M to build a high density residential development.

The District has postponed the decision to allow the Boro to enhance and clarify their Bid.  Our understanding is that the primary concerns of District are:

1. Loss of revenue in the sale and on future real estate taxes
2. Uncertainty if the 7.4 acres will remain open space, and how the 18,000 SF building will be developed and programmed for the benefit of the District students.
3. Terms of the Bid, which include a three year payout to the District, and the purchase being contingent on grant funding.

We invite you to respond to these questions by indicating whether you agree or disagree with the statements.
