On Saturday 4th December, Variety are once again hosting the largest, FREE, Christmas Party for Special Children. This is the 26th year Anniversary and it will run from 10.30am until 1.00pm in the Grand Pavilion of Melbourne Showgrounds.

The Party is still scheduled to go ahead for 2021, in some form or another. Variety have purchased the toys and depending on Government regualtions due to COVID-19, have a Plan A, B, C and D.

A 3 hour stage show featuring many artists will keep the children entertained. There will be activities such as merry go-rounds, jumping castles, face painting and much more. With all this fun to be had, they will need all the food, drinks, and ice creams, which we will provide for free. Of course no Christmas party is complete without Santa and after his arrival the toy room will be open each child will receive two beautiful presents.

Eligibility
To be eligible to request an invitation you need:
a current membership with Aspergers Victoria. Not a member?
Your child must be 12 years or under and have Aspergers/Autism.
Your child must be accompanied by a Parent or Caregiver as no child minding facilities will be available.

Remember, this is only a request for an invitation, not a guarantee that you will receive one. Each
year, Variety have over 5,000 requests for children to attend and it’s not possible to accommodate that
many children with Special Needs.

COVID-19
We understand that we need to be mindful of the pandemic and as such, if restrictions allow, we will
host the party. Sanitiser will be available; ride operators will be sanitising high touch areas between
rides; everyone will have to sign in using the Service Victoria app. This year, no siblings will be
allowed and it is a strict 1 parent/carer per child policy.
