On the topic of Intramural Sports at Yale -- Berkeley, Class of 2027: This Fall, you will hatch from your eggs to become full-fledged Thundercoqs. As you already know, this is an enormous honor. The greatest privilege you will have as a Berkeley Thundercoq is the opportunity to represent BK in athletic endeavors—we call them Intramurals (IMs)—against the other residential colleges to compete for the Tyng Cup. What’s a Tyng Cup, you ask? The Tyng Cup is the single most prestigious athletic prize awarded at Yale, given to the residential college that wins the most intramurals throughout the year. The Tyng Cup is on temporary loan to lesser college. But make no mistake: We.Will.Bring.The.Tyng.Home. Where it belongs. But in order to do that, we need you: Class of 2027. We welcome players of ALL levels. As your Intramural Directors, we know firsthand that there is no better combination of glory, fun, exercise, spirit, dope gear and pure joy than playing IMs for Berkeley. There’s also no better way to start getting to know your fellow Thundercoqs. One student recently described the experience perfectly: “I literally met 110% of my friends though IMs. Now every time I enter the dining hall I am greeted with thunderous applause, and confetti falls from the ceiling.” So, whether you were a varsity superstar in high school or you’ve never stepped foot on a field or court, Berkeley wants you and Berkeley needs you. Regarding the dope gear mentioned above, Berkeley is by far the best-dressed IM team out there. We know you’re itching with excitement for the IM season to start, so fill out this survey gauging your interest in the various IMs. Your answers aren't binding, and you get a free Berkeley T-shirt. Also, remember to bring any individual sports gear, just your perfect size, that you want to use when you pack up for school (though we also have some extra equipment). See you on the fields! --Your BK IM Directors. And now: first indicate whether you will be playing a varsity sport for Yale, and list it below (Varsity athletes are welcome to play any IM sport EXCEPT the sport(s) in which they are playing at the varsity level.) *
