Early Entrance to Kindergarten Qualifications:

To be assessed, the child must turn 5 on or before September 30th. No exceptions.
Children are eligible for kindergarten placement based upon assessment results.
Enrollment is determined by space availability at the primary school.
Must reside within the Battle Ground Public Schools district boundaries or be registering in a Battle Ground Public Schools on a boundary exception.

Steps for Early Entrance to Kindergarten:

1. Parents are responsible for costs associated with the Early Entrance assessment. The assessing fee is $125. Exact cash or checks are accepted. Checks are made payable to Battle Ground Public Schools. They can be mailed to Attn: Aspire Office CASEE A PO Box 200 Battle Ground, WA 98604 or brought in at the time of the assessment. If there are financial concerns, please let us know.

2. Applications to assess for the 2024-25 school year must be returned by June 28, 2024.

3. Parents must set up an appointment with the Aspire Office for an Early Entrance assessment by calling 360-885-5455 for Tyce Walker or 360-885-5426 for Jennifer Marrott. Assessments will be scheduled for August 5th – 8th at the district office. Children must have an overall score of eighty-five percent (85%) or above to qualify.

4. A copy of the assessment results will be emailed to parents.

5. At the conclusion of all assessments, the district will review the information and make a recommendation to the building principal for enrollment.

6. The principal will look at current enrollment in Kindergarten at their school and will give final approval to proceed with your child’s enrollment. Space availability may not be determined until school opening but no later than the first week of school.

7. The principal will contact parents regarding availability and enrollment.

8. If the child is accepted into Kindergarten, there will be a 30-day trial period to monitor the student for permanent placement.
