Want to hear from thriving young professionals in the fields of global public health, water engineering, the environment, and law? We are hosting a virtual panel event this week on March 31 from 5-6pm with four fantastic Federal & Global Fellow alumni.

Erin Hylton is a program analyst with the World Bank's Water Global Practice. Erin's previous experiences include: Department of State Virtual Student Foreign Service Program for the U.S.- Brazil Working Group on Climate Change, Climate Policy Researcher for the Brookings Institution, Marshall Scholarship, Boren Scholarship and Udall Scholarship. Earned a Master of Science degree in Hydrology & Sustainable Development from Imperial College London and a second Master of Science degree in Water Science, Policy & Management from Oxford University. At UMD Erin majored in Civil and Environmental Engineering and was a Federal Fellow in Energy and Environmental Policy 2011.

Mohammad Zia is a law student at Harvard Law School who has done research on energy policy and international development. Mohammad's previous experiences include: Fulbright Research Scholar (solar technology, economic development and policy), Luce Scholar (technology policy, renewable energy, peacebuilding), and Boren Scholarship (studying Arabic in Jordan). Earned a Master of Public Policy degree from Oxford University. At UMD, Mohammad majored in Global Diplomacy and Development (created his own major through the Individual Studies Program), and was a Global Fellow in U.S. Foreign Policy 2012.

Sana Haider is an M.S. candidate and Independent Researcher with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, studying global health and population issues. Sana's previous experiences include: Research Data Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Fulbright Scholar (Philippines), JPSM Junior Research Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. At UMD Sana majored in Community Health and was a Federal Fellow in Public Health Policy 2016.

Donald De Alwis is a consulting research analyst with the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health. Previously, Donald interned with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the World Resources Institute. He was a Science Diplomacy Fellow (2018) and a teaching assistant for the Water Security & Global Health Challenges Fellows concentration (2019). He is a former president of Engineers Without Borders, NOAA Hollings Scholar, and recent (2020) graduate with degrees in Environmental Science & Technology and Public Health Science, and will matriculate into the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2021.
