Here are the details:
WHAT:
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is inviting trusted messengers to inform Virginians about staying safe from COVID-19. Volunteer messengers will participate in photography/video shoots and lend their images, voices, and words to a statewide COVID-19 public awareness campaign. The campaign provides facts about COVID-19 vaccination, testing, mitigation strategies, and other ways to slow the spread of infection and illness and keep Virginia moving forward.
WHO:
Trusted community members who are willing to share important COVID-19 information with fellow Virginians, including in English, Spanish, and Arabic languages.
WHERE:
Photo and video teams will travel to meet participants in their own communities. We are seeking participants in these areas:
- Eastern Virginia:
Dinwiddie, Essex, Gloucester, Greensville, King and Queen, Lancaster, King William, Mathews, Middlesex, Northumberland, Prince George, Richmond, Surry, Sussex, and Westmoreland counties
- Northwest Virginia:
Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, and Warren counties
- Southern Central Virginia:
Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, Franklin, Henry, and Patrick counties
- Southwest Virginia:
Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Norton, Russell, Scott, Tazewell, and Wise counties
WHEN:
Photo and video shoots will take place the week of December 13-17. These shoots will be scheduled during the first two weeks of December.
