The last time this newspaper did a readership survey in 2019, The Lakeville Journal Co., publishers of The Lakeville Journal, The Millerton News and
www.tricornernews.com, was at a crossroads. Then, we were looking at drastically cutting costs in order to survive, yet wanted to continue to provide you with the news coverage that mattered most to you. Your answers helped us formulate what our newspapers and special publications look like now.
Two years later, after two highly successful appeals to our readership for contributions that saved their local community newspapers, this small media company is in a very different place. Your generosity kept us alive, even during a worldwide pandemic, and we were able to apply for and receive tax-exempt status from the IRS as a public charity. Your contributions to The Lakeville Journal Foundation are now tax deductible to the extent permitted under the law. Now it is time to regroup again and hear from you, our valued readers, on what you would like most to see in your community weekly news.
We sincerely ask you to take the time to respond to our survey, here in hard copy or online at
www.tricornernews.com, expressing what matters most to you week to week. In 2019, we received around 300 replies to our survey. It would be great to beat that very good percentage of responses this time around.
Thank you for keeping track of your local news in our publications, and profound gratitude for your support that kept The Lakeville Journal, The Millerton News and
www.tricornernews.com here for your communities.
