I WANT THE MEATS. How does this work?
bacon bits
The lowdown:
After we take your deposit, we grow your piggy until he reaches market weight. It takes about 6 or 7 months from weaning, but most of the time we have pigs ready for homes within a month or two of reservation.

As of June 2018, quarter shares are a flat rate of $225 per share. This price includes processing fees and delivery to most patches of Ohio. Our piggies usually go to market weighing between 250-300 pounds, but you won't get all of that back in dinner. Piggies lose about 30 percent of that weight when the butcher removes organs and blood and stuff, and then they lose a smaller percentage more when the butcher trims fat and bones. A quarter share will have a minimum of 30 pounds of pork, but most far exceed that amount.
But what are the cuts?
Let's do this.
All our quarter shares include:
- Bacon (both belly and jowl)
- Shoulder roasts,
- Bone-in loin roast
- Smoked ham steaks
- Pork chops
- Spareribs
- Sausage
- Hocks
- Lard
- Odd bits like heart, liver, tongue and soup bones, when available. I try to honor all shareholder requests for pig heads. (Now there's a sentence.)

Delicious things like Bratwurst, Chorizo, Breakfast links require a 10-25 pound minimum to produce at the butcher. We have found that nobody wants that much, so we now offer an add-on that includes at least 4 packages of: Chorizo, Bratwurst, breakfast links or patties and Italian links. We'll throw in more variety if it's available.
