Science Is a Drag! Presenter Application
The first ever Science Is a Drag! is happening Monday July 8th at the Gladstone Melody Bar in Toronto!

Co-produced by Samantha Yammine (Science Sam), Geith Maal-Bared, Shawn Hercules, and RCIScience, this free public event will celebrate science in a 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly atmosphere through the art of drag!

The first of its kind, this event will give platform to Scientists & Science Communicators who may often feel like an outsider in STEM because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. If this sounds at all familiar, we want to give **YOU** the stage to present the science you're passionate about in a way that is creative and authentically ~* Y O U *~.

The format of your presentation is flexible: you may choose to do a fun lip-sync, burlesque, or musical performance first then flip on some slides to share your research; or just weave in some fun music and theatrics into your presentation. The emphasis is on teaching the audience some exciting science in an interactive way....... the drag is just for fun! And don't worry, most of the science presenters will be first-timers in drag, buuut we'll have the LEGENDARY Champagna (crowned BENT Beauty Supreme 2019!) to bless the stage as our host & headliner!

We encourage a broad range of creativity and free expression in presentation material & attire...  our team is happy to help with makeup if needed! To prepare for your scientific presentation, you'll receive a free, 1-on-1 mandatory training session with Samantha. Our team is also happy to help you prepare as much as you'd like beyond that, so if you've always wanted to do something like this but are nervous, we got you!!
