Stroud Water Research Center offers programs year-round for Girl Scouts of the USA, Boy Scouts of America, and other Scouting organizations. Your den, pack, or troop will learn about stream and watershed health through fun, hands-on educational activities. To request a Scout program please complete the form below.

Current Program Offerings
At this time, we are excited to offer the following program options (available onsite at the Stroud Center, offsite at a nearby outdoor location, or virtually). Some of these programs can include an overnight experience at the Stroud Center based upon request:
  • Boots-in-the-water stream studies (All Scout groups and ages)
  • On-the-water canoe programs (Scouts BSA and Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors)
  • Fishing programs (All Scout groups and ages)
  • Cub Scout Science Everywhere STEM Nova Award  
  • Girl Scout Think Like a Citizen Scientist Award Badge (Girl Scouts of all ranks)
  • Girl Scout WOW! Wonders of Water Journey (Girl Scout Brownies)
  • Scouts BSA merit badges: Fish & Wildlife Management and Environmental Science
  • Trout Unlimited STREAM Girls (Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes)  
  • Service Projects like Gold Awards, Silver Awards, Eagle Scout Projects, etc. 
Program Fees

The fees below are subsidized by other funding.

  • Day programs, per youth participant: $5 for a three-hour program; $10 for a five- to six-hour program.
  • Overnight programs, per youth participant: $15. 

$100 additional fee for On-the-Water Canoeing Watershed Education programs.

FREE for adult chaperones. 

Minimum Scout requirement: There is a 10 Scout minimum for any program. If you are unable to reach this minimum, please still complete this form. The Stroud Center will work to find additional Scouting groups interested in a similar program.
