Resource Room Positions/Job Descriptions
SW Graduate Assistant:
Graduate Assistant will follow HR department policies and procedures for supervising and managing all employees/volunteers. Graduate Assistant will be the primary nurturer within the resource room. They will provide direct reports to each committee to ensure consistent and adequate support for operations. They will oversee volunteers to ensure proper execution of tasks and customer service. Answer questions from customers about campus directions, activities, university services/offices and general university knowledge. Interviewed and selected by SW department.

BSW Student Assistant:
Student assistant will work closely with the graduate assistant in managing daily tasks and operations of the resource room. Student assistant will be responsible for working directly with customers, volunteers, university staff, and administrative personnel. They will report directly to graduate assistant to ensure the proper flow of services. Facilitate workshops, handle/process volunteer applications, and identify additional resources needed. Interviewed and selected by SW department.

Check-in Specialist:
Responsible for greeting students, faculty/staff, and vendors entering and exiting the resource room. Responsible for checking students in/out after shopping trips. Responsible for directing vendors and visitors to the appropriate area and/or staff personnel; Providing friendly customer service to all visitors. Need to have excellent communication skills, patience, and most importantly, an instinctive ability to cope with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner. Ensure everyone follows safety procedures while visiting resource room (social distance/mask up)

Food pantry Assistant:
Food Pantry Assistants will help the University meet its goal of serving students who are food insecure by providing free food, snacks and personal items. Food Pantry Assistants must be self-motivated learners, efficient problem solvers and have ability to provide care and supportive services to all students. Maintain responsibility over pantry operations. Provide a clean, safe and efficient operation of the Food Pantry. Pick up donations from donation bins, and food drives, as needed. Maintain standards of operating procedures. Management of documents and paperwork, including food inventory and food log sheets. Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports for guests and supplies necessary for operations. Keep accurate records of the amount of food coming in and out each month. Load and unload vans, collaborate with inventory/stock assistant to sort food items, check for expiration dates, and discard expired items. Know and execute all food handling procedures.

Professional Clothing Assistant
Identify students’ needs and help them find clothing that suits their body types. Assist students in obtaining professional attire for job interviews, internships, and career fairs. Exemplifies patience, the ability to be personable and to be comfortable with a variety of customers.

Hygiene and Toiletry Assistant
Support and educate individuals on the importance of having great hygiene; provide students brochures and information on practicing good hygiene habits;. Assist students with shopping for hygiene/toiletry items. Encourage students to continue taking care of themselves and making sure they have the appropriate items to do so.

Inventory Specialist
Pickup, receive, and record product donations. Inventory items quarterly and provide required product reports. Utilize FIFO (first in, first out) inventory practices to ensure product quality and minimize waste. Organize and oversee product distribution process with help of other resource room staff and volunteers. Orient volunteers to items available and tasks to be done to prepare for product distributions. Manage student entry/exit from designated areas with the help of other resource room staff and volunteers. Organize packing for monthly and weekly restocking. Assist with physical set up for each product distribution. Restocking empty shelves/racks and taking inventory

Stockers or Stock clerks:
Stock storage areas and ensure all food is sorted/stored in a safe and sanitary manner. Responsible for ensuring that shelves, bins, displays, storage, and aisles are properly stocked to make sure customers can find and shop merchandise they are looking for. Assist with receiving, unloading, and unpacking cartons, crates, and boxes of bulk or packaged goods, and checking labels and information before moving it to where it needs to be. Assists fellow associates as needed throughout the store. Lifting heavy loads and moving around the work floor most of the shift. Replenish inventory. Replace damaged or missing products. Work closely with inventory specialist and food pantry assistant to ensure the correct amount and types of products. Perform routine maintenance checks of the resource room area and perform cleanup or simple repair duties when needed.
