Skiing/Snowboarding Lessons 2022 Sign-Up
*Sign-ups due by Tuesday, December 7th.

Lessons this winter will be held at Cannon Mountain on Thursdays. They will run for 6 weeks on January 6, 13, 20, 27, February 3 and 10 from 1:30-3:00. Children and chaperones can stay and free-ski after lessons until the mountain closes at 4:00.

Ability Level Descriptions
1. BEGINNER: First time skier or snowboarder (lead by a Cannon Mountain ski program instructor)

2. NOVICE: Skier or snowboarder that is comfortable turning and stopping on our easiest terrain.

3. LOW INTERMEDIATE: Exploring Cannon’s Green trails and some Blue Terrain. Starting to ski parallel or link turns on a snowboard.

4. INTERMEDIATE: Skiing parallel or linking turns on a snowboard on all of Cannon’s Blue terrain and some Black terrain.

5. ADVANCED: Skiing/riding Cannon’s Black diamonds and starting to venture into moguls and glades.

My child will need a bag lunch from the cafeteria on lesson days (students in Grades 3, 4, 7, and 8 will be able to eat at their regular lunch times before dismissal) *
Chaperones
Cannon Mountain is only providing instructors for children who are beginning skiers. It is our responsibility to chaperone/instruct the other groups. Children who are not beginners, will be split into groups based on their indicated ability (6-8 in each group). Each group will be led by two chaperones who will be responsible for teaching/instructing their group. A training will be provided by Cannon Mountain so that chaperones can get more comfortable leading and teaching groups of kids on the mountain. Chaperones who are leading groups will be given lift tickets for each of the scheduled lesson days (Kindergarten chaperones included). With the exception of chaperones with Kindergarten students, Cannon Mountain will not be providing lift tickets for adults to ski with a group unless they are one of the two chaperones instructing/teaching the lesson.

*The school reserves the right to make final decisions about who will be chaperoning groups. We will contact you if you've been selected as a chaperone.
