UNYA and Vancaf: YOUTH COMIC WORKSHOP
UNYA and Vancaf: YOUTH COMIC WORKSHOP
DATE: May 1st
TIME: 4pm - 7pm
LOCATION: 1618 E Hastings  OCM Creative Space UNYA

Maya McKibbin (Ojibwe) is hosting a Youth Comic Workshop in collaboration with Vancaf and UNYA. The workshop is for self identifying indigenous youth between the ages of 11 and 24. We will be playing with the themes of home and our hopes for our futures, though exploring other themes is welcomed!

Our creations from the workshop will be put together in a book and sold at Vancaf, all proceeds will go to UNYA.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into the world of creating visual stories for an audience who loves comics and art!

VanCAF is The Vancouver Comic Arts Festival. It is a two-day celebration of comics and graphic novels and their creators, including an exhibition and vendor fair featuring hundreds of creators from around the world. Other Festival events include readings, panels and workshops.

UNYA (Urban Native Youth Association) is the centre of Indigenous youth excellence, supporting youth on their journeys by amplifying and celebrating their voices. Our Vision: Empowered Indigenous youth leading and inspiring all Nations.
