UNI Men's Volleyball Club Interest Form
Thank you for expressing interest in the University of Northern Iowa Men's Volleyball Club!

This fall season will look different than previous seasons with the COVID pandemic currently happening. All sport and student organizations must follow guidelines set forth by the university to ensure students' health and safety. The club is taking the necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of our athletes and to have a fall season.

At this time we ARE allowed to have practices. Matches, tournaments and travel are still to be determined for sport clubs.

Guidelines for Volleyball Clubs at UNI:
- Follow UNI social distancing protocols
- Follow USA Volleyball 'Return to Play Guidelines'
- 4 v 4 game simulation
- 4 v 4 scrimmages
- Physical distancing requirements of 6ft between participants
- Equipment and inventory use

Aside from these guidelines the club will take temperatures of all athletes before EVERY practice and record who was at practice. We will sanitize equipment after each practice and use hand sanitizer when applicable. For those not directly involved in drills, masks ARE required.

Our season is a spring sport beginning in January and ending with the NCVF National Championships Tournament in mid-April. UNI MVB is part of the MWPVC (Midwest Plains Volleyball Conference) which is housed under our national affiliation the NCVF (National Collegiate Volleyball Federation). We normally travel to tournaments in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin and etc. We will carpool and stay in a hotel as a team. We will continue to watch for updates from the university, MWPVC and the NCVF about how the Fall and Springs seasons will look.

At this time tryouts and the first practice won't be until at the earliest the first week of September. This way we can get into the groove of how classes are operating.

The club travels during the late fall semester and a lot during the spring semester. Are you committed to traveling with the team to out of state tournaments? *These tournaments are typically Saturdays and/or Sundays. We typically leave Friday evenings for out of state tournaments. *
Practices are typically in the evenings an we will practice 2-nights a week in the WRC gyms. In the past practices have been 8-10 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. We have had some Sunday evening practices too as that worked better with schedules. Please let us know of any conflicts at this time such as evening classes and work. Also we are considering a Friday afternoon practice please let us know your Friday availability. *
