A 1 minute overtime period with time stoppage at all deadballs. If the game is not decided by then, there will be a one minute break, followed by "first basket wins" sudden death.

A 5 minute overtime period with time stoppage at all deadballs.

What is the proper procedure for a substitute checking into the game? *

The athlete just runs onto the court during play.

The athlete checks-in with the scoreboard operator, then waits for the referee to call them into the game.

There can only be substitutions at half-time.

Substitutions? There are no substitutions in basketball.

How long are the standard halves in a ball game? *

5v5 and 3v3- 2 fifteen minute halves, with 1 twenty minute half-time.

5v5 and 3v3- 2 ten minute halves, with a 1 one minute half-time.

5v5- 1 twenty minute game. 3v3- One ten minute game.

5v5- 2 fifteen minute halves, with a five minute half-time. 3v3- 2 ten minute halves, with 1 five minute half-time.

Do athletes have to receive "meaningful playing time" in both halves of a basketball game? *

Yes

How far back from the throw-in spot (where one athlete is throwing the ball into play), does the defender have to stand? *

Five feet

Players of higher ability only pass to one another.

Players of lower ability rarely receive the ball.

Players of lower ability are rarely involved in team play.

In the last two minutes of competition, the participation of higher-ability athletes is noticeably increased to the exclusion of lower ability teammates.

It is NOT dominance when players have the opportunity to display their individual skills to the best of their ability.

No. This is not acceptable in any situation.

Yes. Only if the referees are making terrible calls.

Yes. It is acceptable any time.

Which of the following statements are true in regards to filing a protest? *

Protestable subjects include- A misapplication of the rules, a clerical error, a mistake in the final results, or a failure to follow a meet procedure (such as disqualifying a late team before the 10 minute threshold).

Non-protestable subjects include- Any judgment decision pertaining to violations or alleged violations of the rules, A decision made by the official(s) that does not involve misapplication of a rule, or terms and conditions of competition, whether a start is fair or legal.

If a coach wishes to protest, the protest must first be approved by the venue director, who may accept or deny the request.

The protest must be filed within 30 minutes of the game in question's conclusion.
