Volunteers, thank you for your willingness to give so freely of your time and service for Action Youth Media events. Please select the day(s) you are available to commit to volunteer. MCPS teen volunteers are eligible for SSL hours. 

About Action Youth Media
Action Youth Media provides free after-school and summer media content classes for teenagers in downtown Silver Spring, MD. Established in 2008, these classes are centered around amplifying the voices of youth. In addition to our classes, we organize various arts outreach events that showcase the talents of our gifted students. Click here to check out what free programs and events we offer.

Volunteer Requirements:
  • Availability: Volunteers must commit to being available for the entire duration of the event, including setup, the event itself, and breakdown.
  • Responsibility: Volunteers should be responsible and punctual, arriving on time for their designated shifts and fulfilling their assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Teamwork: Volunteers must be willing to work collaboratively with other team members, event staff, and participants to ensure a smooth and successful event.
  • Communication: Volunteers should have excellent communication skills and be able to follow instructions given by event organizers and staff members.
  • Enthusiasm: Volunteers should bring a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the event, contributing to a welcoming and energetic atmosphere for all participants and attendees.
  • Age Requirement: Volunteers must be between the ages of 14 and 25 to participate in the event.
  • Background check for individuals who are not in high school.
Benefits: 
  • Volunteers attend the event free of charge. 
  • Students who participate are eligible for SSL hours.
  • Event volunteers also have the opportunity to learn new skills from professionals, meet others in the community, while supporting Action Youth Media youth events.
