A lecture-discussion hosted by film critic Robert Horton
William Shatner turned 92 in March, so most of us have spent our lives in the Age of Shatner, a strange and wondrous time of dramatic pauses, fantabulous musical interpretations, puckish self-spoofery, and Tribbles. Sure, he was never Oscar-nominated, but who else can claim, in a single career, cinematic association with Dostoyevsky and Roger Corman, multiple top-tier episodes of The Twilight Zone, the lead role in the all-Esperanto-dialogue feature Incubus, a game-changing SNL hosting gig, and that Star Trek thing? In this career appreciation (with clips) we pledge to take Shatner seriously, mostly, and give this Canadian treasure his due.
NOTE: This presentation will be recorded (minus the Q&A) for a future Silver Screeners Program.
