The ideal Studio Assistant is enthusiastic and hard-working with a desire to learn and improve their skills. You are mesmerized by our wood shop, even if you do not have any woodworking experience! To be successful in this role, you must be communicative, flexible, and take pride in a job well done. A strong attention to detail and a positive attitude are required.

CURIOSITY - You enjoy working with your hands, learning new crafts, and adding new tools and techniques to your skill set. You enjoy designing, making, tinkering, and experimenting.
COMMUNICATIVE - You can follow directions and clearly talk through questions and ideas. You add strength and positivity to your team. You enjoy pitching in and being part of a small but dynamic group.
TASK-ORIENTED - You enjoy the flow and rhythm of manual work. You find pleasure in tasks that others may describe as boring or repetitive.
ATTENTIVE - You are careful and take pride in your work. You prefer working in a safe, neat, efficient studio space and will participate in and improve upon the studio's safety protocols.
FLEXIBLE - You are open to new ideas and experiences. You look forward to trying new tools and working with new materials.

Founded in 2012, Mutual Adoration is a multi-faceted independent business specializing in producing, selling, and teaching contemporary craft. In 2017, we transformed a former US Post Office into an open concept production studio, retail shop, and venue for craft workshops. This hub of creative energy on Detroit’s East side is known simply as POST.
