TITLE: Outdoor Education Director
REPORTS TO: President
POSITION TERM: ◻ PT ◻ FT ☑ On-site ☑  
       
Location: Eighteen miles outside of Payson, AZ.

POSITION SUMMARY:

An Arizona camp non-profit operator (three uniquely branded residential camp properties) is looking to hire new team members.  The Outdoor Education Director will coordinate various camps and guest groups with an emphasis on its Outdoor STEM Centered Education (OSCE) Program at one of its sites Tonto Creek Camp at Camp Tontozona located outside of Payson AZ.  OSCE program is unique and one of only in the nation and has support from Arizona State University.  Last year 80 schools and 5,000 participated in OSCE. With the addition of ASU’s official football team camp turf field; the property has a rapidly growing market with high school and club sports teams. Join an exciting growing experiential learning and team orientated company.  This position could be a couple positions with expanded duties.  

COMPENSATION:
Compensation is competitive to other camps and will be based on one’s experience and background. Compensation includes housing and meals.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
OSCE is a fun, fast-paced outdoor education program.  It utilizes an instructional design to experientially teach and challenge youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math, environmental ethics, outdoor skills, teambuilding, and leadership. Our curriculum covers a broad selection of themes and topics such as engineering & physics, leadership & team building, adaptations, landforms, energy, and life-science to name a few. The curriculum fosters critical-thinking, personal and social growth.  Over the past eight years, 240 schools, 1,440 teachers and 21,000 campers from Metro Phoenix and rural Arizona communities have participated in OSCE.  
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will structure and coordinate sports programs, summer programs and frequently act as TCC’s camp host.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  Background in education (especially outdoor ed.) and teaching.  
  Curriculum development preferred but not required.  
  Proof of responsiveness and customer service is will be required for the successful candidate.  
  Desire to grow and participate in serving and learning environment.
