List Reporting Rules: We use the ABA listing rules.
That is, birds must be:
1. Within the reporting area and time period when observed, and
2. Alive, wild, and unrestrained when observed.
The state is divided into east and west by the Pacific Crest Trail,
which roughly follows the crest of the Cascade Mountains.
Pelagic reports must be of birds observed beyond an arbitrary distance of
2 miles off shore.
Yard lists include species noted while observer was within his own
property boundaries, but may include birds that were outside those bounds.
North Cascades National Park category includes the number of species within
the National Park boundaries only.
North Cascades National Park Complex includes the number of species within
the boundaries of the three units that make up the Complex:
1. North Cascades National Park
2. Ross Lake National Recreation Area
3. Lake Chelan National Recreation Area
· Choose categories of personal interest and report those totals.
· Submit a separate form for each person reporting.
