An exploration of open education practices in European higher education and business

I understand that this research study will be conducted with professionals engaging in open educational practises within their organisation and is a mixed methods study which will explore the intersection/interface between higher education and business in the area of Open Educational Practice.
I am aware that participation in this study involves completing an online questionaire. I am aware that my data will be treated in accordance with the following statement: Participants’ data will be collected, stored and processed in compliance with the 1988 and 2003 Data Protection Acts, and in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679. It is intended to treat gathered data with strict confidentiality and raw data will only be available to the researchers. Pseudonyms will be used for participants when extracts from transcripts are used to ensure that the identities of the participants are adequately concealed. The data will be stored exclusively in DCU security-encrypted computer systems. The named researchers will have exclusive access to the data, with one exception: focus group data will be shared temporarily with a transcription service under a data protection/confidentiality agreement The files containing participants’ identifying information details will be destroyed after five years. The anonymised data set will be retained for future research and may be submitted to an open data repository.
Ethical approval for this study has been granted by the DCU Research Ethics Committee (DCUREC/2022/041)
