Research workers at UBC, SFU, and UVic have been working to unionize to demand fair wages and basic employment rights. The University Administration at both SFU and UBC have opposed the will of thousands of workers who signed union cards with TSSU and CUPE 3338 respectively. These administrator argue that, because the workers are also students, their labour is just part of their studies and they can't unionize. We disagree and we need our government to stick by its principles and declare Research is Work!
