Workshop submission form – Sydney Anarcho-Communist Conference 2021
Want to present an hour-long workshop at our 2021 conference? Fill in this form!
ALL PROPOSALS DUE JUNE 30!
We will prioritise workshop proposals that:
- Are relevant to active struggles
- Contain some degree of audience participation
- Are not boring
- Would be interesting to an average lefty working-class person without substantial pre-existing knowledge of socialist politics
- Are about organised anarcho-communism specifically
- Are about a contemporary social issue you think needs more attention
- Involve teaching a skill that is directly valuable to socialists
- Are clear and understandable
- Deal with the importance of anti-colonialism in a settler-colonial country
We will deprioritise proposals that are:
- About historical minutiae with not much relevance to contemporary politics
- Broadly unrelated to contemporary struggles or anarchism
- Bigoted in any way, shape or form
- Apologia for or endorsements of authoritarianism
- Ridiculous
- Boring
- Overly academic
However, all proposals will be considered on their own merits by the conference organisers.
Examples of submissions we'd be very interested in:
- Experiences of workplace organising and labour action
- The history of a current social movement and why it's relevant
- Discussions of socialist strategy
- The uprising in ____ country, what it's about and what we can do to help
Examples of submissions we'd not be that interested in:
- Did aliens from Mars launch a coup against Gough Whitlam?
- Tutorials on how to compost household waste
- How to cure cancer with homeopathy
- Why Stalin wasn't that bad, actually
- "Oh cum, all ye faithful": deconstructing theories of sexual biopolitics in 17th century Viennese hymnody
