RE: Petition of Martial Law Survivors
We support the petition of Martial Law Survivors for the Department of Education (DepEd) to implement the non-monetary reparation as provided by Section 5 of the RA 10368 also known as the “Human Rights Victims’ Reparation and Recognition Act of 2013”.
The DepEd is tasked to inculcate among the youth the values that respect human rights through stories of heroism and sacrifices of those who suffered from gross human rights violations during Martial Law in various ways as written in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in 2017 by DepEd with the Human Rights Violations Victims’ Memorial Commission (HRVVMC), the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and the Human Rights Victims' Claims Board (HRVCB).

You also agree to the Memorandum of Agreement signed by the concerned parties, namely: DepEd, HRVCB, CHR, and the HRVVMC.
