Placelist survey: how do you discover new places to go?

Hi there. My name's Chaz.

I'm working on a project called Placelist. The idea behind placelist was to help solve a few key problems when it comes to finding places to go, on the go:

1) How people can give and receive personal recommendations to friends or out-of-towners of bars and restaurants (that often happens ad hoc via text or email).

2) How people can discover new places based on recommendations of people they trust via shared lists.

3) How people can bookmark places they go so they can remember them for later when they are out.

I'm sending this to you because I'm interested in finding out how YOU give and get recommendations about places (bars and restaurants).
