Members of the Ark Angel Alliance need no prior early-stage investing experience. Indeed, much of our efforts are focused on teaching others how to make better investing decisions in early-stage companies and facilitating those investments with our screening and due diligence. However, members do need to meet accredited investor thresholds, which can be found below.

The benefits we bring to members include:
-Access to deal flow and company information on Gust, our deal and portfolio management platform
-Monthly meetings at which companies present to our members for prospective investment
-Access to due diligence on “vetted” companies
-Ability to leverage term sheet negotiation and legal document preparation
-Continuing education regarding early-stage investing through twice-monthly programming
-Ability to become meaningfully involved in companies beyond just making an investment
-Opportunities for networking with other Ark Angels members

In terms of expectations we have for our members, we generally want you to be engaged in as many ways as you feel comfortable. A highly engaged group of members obviously makes us stronger, which increases the benefits to all stakeholders. Your engagement can include the following:

-Attend a majority of monthly member meetings
-Serve on a committee (either Investment or Education) or on the Board of Directors
-Participate in company due diligence
-Host a general membership meeting at your office or place of work
-Invest at least $20,000 among presenting companies over the course of a year
-Help to identify and recruit companies to present for prospective investment
-Help to identify and recruit new Ark Angel members
-Collaborate with other Ark Angel members, offer to facilitate introductions, and generally contribute to the camaraderie of our network

PROCESS FOR MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION

Qualifying individuals are invited to consider becoming members of the Ark Angel Alliance. Membership is at the discretion of the Ark Angel's Board of Directors (with any agent or designee, the “Board”). Membership of all members is subject to annual renewal, non-renewal, revocation, or termination by the Board.

New members must be sponsored by a current Ark Angel member, which can be waived via board approval.
All new members (and renewing members) must complete and sign this Membership Agreement and the Ark Angel Member Survey, and return the completed and signed Membership Agreement, and Survey, to Ark Angel at the addresses noted below or via the CAAN online platform, as applicable.

The Board will review all applications for membership and will attempt to provide applicants with a written response within thirty (30) days of completed application submission.

New member dues are payable for one year in advance. Memberships renew annually on your anniversary date of joining.

Ark Angel membership may be terminated or membership revoked at the discretion and determination of the Board if it is determined that an Ark Angel member has breached any term of Ark Angel membership. A member will be notified in writing by the Board of the decision to terminate or revoke membership, and that member will have twenty (20) days in which to submit a written response to the Board if the member believes his/her actions do not warrant termination or revocation of membership. The Board will consider in good faith any such written response. The decision of the Board will be final in all circumstances.
